Genotyping of Histological Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Isolated by Dental Broach Smear in Iraqi Patients

Cutaneous leishmaniasis is a major public health problem as disease endemic in Iraqi population. Manydiagnostic tools are used to establish the diagnosis like smear, histopathology and culture. To find morerapid, sensitive specific diagnostic method for of cutaneous leishmaniasis, detectthe genotypes leishmania tropica strains Iraq. Sixty six patients (43 males and23 females) with clinical were included present work during theperiod between December / 2019 May 2020 Al-Yarmook Teaching Hospital Al-Karama TeachingHospital. The age ranged from 6 months 55 years, median 24 years. followingdiagnostic techniques carried out including dental broachsmear, examination culture on Roswell park medium institute (RPM I 1640) onNNN media. In addition polymerase chain reaction (PCR) restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP), genotype performed all patients. other skin lesions wereprocessed PCR control group.
